Oral Surgeon Dr. Jeffrey C. Knorr, DDS, MSBA
Dr. Knorr completed his dental degree at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1981 and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital in 1984. Following successful completion of the State of Michigan Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Specialty Licensing examination, he and his wife returned home to start a family and to enter private practice. He returned to Madonna University in 1994 and attained an MSBA in the Medical and Dental Fellows MSBA program.
The practice evolved from 1985 into a multi-office, full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice with locations across Macomb County. In September of 2014, he opted to begin a solo practice in New Baltimore, MI. He maintains hospital staff privileges at St. John Macomb Hospital, in Warren, MI. He has been identified by his peers as a ‘Top Doc’ in 2007 and a ‘Top Dentist’ in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 in Detroit Hour Magazine.
Dr. Knorr has followed many paths outside of private practice. Over the years, his activities have included: teaching and training Oral and Maxillofacial Residents at St. John Macomb Hospital, lecturing and clinical instruction at University of Detroit School of Dentistry, serving on the State of Michigan Specialty Licensing Examination Board, serving on Macomb Dental Society Ethics and Peer Review, and co-authoring a chapter in a nationally acclaimed Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery textbook. He has been engaged in software program design and development with a Oral Surgery Practice Management software company, alpha and beta testing as well as lecturing and providing hands on training to other dental professionals for the Nobel Biocare Corporation on NobelActive, a new 3rd generation implant system and NobelClinician a comprehensive CAD-CAM implant treatment planning and surgical execution software system. He is active today as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Consultant for Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Michigan – Medical Surgical department. Throughout 2016, Dr. Knorr has been expanding the practices capabilities for guided dental implant procedures with use of alternative CAD-CAM design programs and the addition of in-office 3D printing.
Outside interests include resurrecting and restoration of vintage guitars as well as designing and building custom acoustic guitars, general woodworking, refinishing furniture as well as computer programming and network maintenance.
